Six days until the new season of Project Runway!! Wahoo! Until then I'm enjoying the latest blog by the boys of Project Rungay.
I found out today that a coworker of mine wrote a book about his experience during Hurricane Katrina. I haven't gotten my copy yet, but thought I'd post it here and see if I can drum up some interest. Paul's a
cool guy and deserves much good stuff in life.
I looked at a friend's copy today and was immediately drawn in.

I opened my patio door this evening and it fell off the track. As I was trying to right it I noticed this:
Little green crawly thing. Napping on my screen like he owned it. I hope he enjoyed his little flight down 3 stories and across the courtyard.
I can hear his little relatives chomping on my cucumbers as I type.
If anything has happened to these precious little gems, those creepy green buggers will regret it.
And they best not EVER get near my adorable bean sprout. This is so cute I'm thinking about naming it.
I think this one might turn into a tomato....fingers crossed!
Today is my mom's bday. Yay! I haven't gotten her a gift yet, though. Kinda hard to buy for. I'm still shopping.

Guess what? I've got cucumbers!!
The old B-52s song keeps going through my head. Remember the wig song (basically went: "what's that on your head? a wig!) Well now it's "what's that on your stem?! A cuke!" Followed by me dancing around yelling "cuke! cuke! cuke! cuke!"

I also have a bean sprout today from my bush beans. And lettuce sprouts too. Here's the lettuce (the beans are really shy).
Click for the big picc'y, get out a magnifier and squint with your eyes about 1/4" from the screen. The good thing about container gardening for one is that one packet of seeds is probably enough to last me about 30 years.
Going to the Fair today where I will enjoy lots of foods on sticks. Summer has officially begun for me!
